Our vision is that NOLA CCAN impacts the city’s entire school system. We strive to ensure that every student has a well-trained counselor or success coach and is on a path towards gainful employment in a dignified career with an affordable postsecondary education credential of value. We are focused on system-level impact.

NOLA CCAN is an initiative of the Cowen Institute at Tulane University that fosters collaboration and leads professional development for high school counselors, practitioners, and youth-serving organizations to increase college and career access, persistence, and success for New Orleans youth. We lead the New Orleans FAFSA Campaign, and we fortify the institute’s pillar of providing capacity building resources that expand skills, knowledge, and relationships for stakeholders to bolster their support for public school students.

Our capacity building work includes the:

• annual Life After High School Convening

• Data Fellowship

• New Orleans FAFSA Campaign

We also share data and host convenings aimed at increasing post-secondary outcomes for New Orleans youth.
